What will you need to train your dog?
A standard sized crate to fit your dog when he/she is an adult. It should ONLY be adequate for the dog to stand up comfortably and turn around (for reasons that will turn out to be apparent afterwards).
A "Potty area". This will need to remain similar until your puppy is completely trained;.
To opt a suitable Potty Word.
To select favorite snacks for your teacup chihuahua puppy is most important.
A cleaner which is non ammonia based for any accident areas. If you can find one that is made specifically for pets, they are the best. You must be able to find one which is called "No Go". You can get this from pet stores or catalogs.
A schedule designed to meet your chihuahua puppies needs;.
Time and patience is the most important thing you will require if you got your chuwawa from a chewawa rescue area besides all the above mentioned points.
Stated below defines about crate :-
A dog crate is a cage made of moulded fiberglass. Its use is to offer confinement for reasons of security, safety, housebreaking and protection of home goods. The crate can help you achieve a better relationship with your pet by preventing unwanted activities when you aren't available to oversee him.
This is really really important. The crate should not be too big. Your dog must have enough room to stand up and turn around. If the crate is overly large, you will defeat the purpose since your dog will alleviate himself in one end and lie in the other. For most young puppies, you will need a crate divider. These are very useful because you can purchase a crate which will fit your adult dog and utilize it while he is still a pup.
Subsequently the most important thing is your dog's schedule. A young dog pup will need to go out every three hrs - after each meal, after he drinks a lot of water, after he wakes up, and after playtime. I occasionally find it helpful to maintain a diary of what the pup "does" and when. You will notice a pattern after about a week and this might be helpful in establishing a schedule.
It is essential to take your dog every time at the same spot for potty whichever you have determined if the crate door is opened. After potty you should offer your dog his preferred snack for example the hot dog or cookies.
Stay with your dog and have him on a lead if possible. You absolutely must not play with him. Your dog should learn from the starting that this is not playtime or walk time, it is "potty time."
When your chiwawas tries to understand you pick a suitable word for potty such as "Go Potty!" Train your puppy by saying the similar word just as they pee or poop. After they have heard the phrase maybe a few dozen times, you can begin using it to encourage them just before they are really doing their stuff.
Its best to admire your dog after he finishes potty and then take him inside and give food and play with him. The most important thing you should always keep in mind is to take your dog outside after food since dog has the propensity to poop out every 20 minutes after food and then take him back in the crate. This cycle must be continued till evening.
If you desire your puppy to stay clean all through the night dont give food and water to him after 10:00 p.m. Employing the use of a dog crate in your home will provide your dog with a place he can call home therefore provide him with a warm bedding. It is also necessary for you to shift the crate near your bedroom during the night for your chihuahua.
Your puppy will settle in comfortably if he is close to your bed. Usually he wishes to go out and micturate instantly after waking up. But dont forget his potty location and methods you learnt.
